CSA HOLDS WORKSHOP FOR THE STAFF OF FAIR WAGES AND SALARIES COMMISSION

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has organised a Workshop to train management and staff of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) on document/information classification, online information protection and cybersecurity best practices.

The one-day training exercise touched on topics such as information classification and its implications for employees on online information safety, data breaches, and the National Cyber Security Awareness Programme (NCSAP). Other sessions explained the role of the government in establishing a good cybersecurity ecosystem in Ghana and best cyber practices for users.

Addressing the participants, the Lead for Capacity Building and Awareness Creation (CBAC) of the CSA, Mr. Alex Oppong underlined the crucial and sensitive function of governmental institutions, as well as the significance of handling information with caution, particularly, on the Internet. Mr. Oppong emphasized the importance of adhering to proper cybersecurity measures by both public and private institutions. He, therefore, reiterated the need for institutions to be abreast with basic knowledge in cybersecurity and adhere to them in their online engagements.

The workshop, which was held in Accra, on April 4, 2023, had a total of seventy-one (71) personnel of the FWSC participating.
