11-Member Facilitator Body for Cybersecurity Industry Forum Inaugurated
The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, has inaugurated an 11-member facilitator body for the Cybersecurity Industry Forum, emphasising the private sector's role as a strategic partner to the government in shaping a secure digital environment.
The work of the facilitator body is enshrined in section 81(2) of the Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038), with the mandate of leading the strategic direction and operationalisation of the industry forum, a platform that will periodically bring the industry together as per section 81 of Act 1038.
The inauguration, which took place in Accra on December 12, 2025, marks an important milestone in Ghana’s cybersecurity governance framework.
The event formally concluded the work of the Facilitating Committee, whose efforts laid the foundation for the Industry Forum through the development of key instruments, including the draft Industry Code and Constitution Framework.
Hon. Sam George indicated that public-private partnerships are crucial in enhancing the country’s cybersecurity resilience, and that initiatives that ensure collaboration among diverse stakeholders are important in addressing the complexities posed by cyber threats."
The minister encouraged the members to draw insights from countries such as the US, the UK, and Singapore, which had successfully established similar forums, adding that “these countries provide valuable lessons that can enhance our efforts here in Ghana".
The acting Director-General of the Cyber Security Authority, Mr. Divine Selase Agbeti, expressed gratitude to the facilitating committee for laying a credible foundation for the industry forum.
He called on all stakeholders to recommit themselves to the shared mission of building a safe, secure, and resilient digital nation. “Cybersecurity is a collective responsibility, and our work today will shape the nation’s digital future for years to come,” Mr Agbeti added.
