INNOVARE AFRICA ENGAGES CSA TO DEEPEN INDUSTRY COLLABORATION
The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) welcomed a delegation from Innovare Africa, led by Chief Executive Officer Mr C.K. Bruce, in a post-event engagement following the recently concluded CISO Summit, held from 9–10 April 2025. The visit sought to explore deeper collaboration between the public and private sectors, with a focus on creating new opportunities within Ghana’s growing cybersecurity ecosystem.
Discussions centred on strengthening partnerships, promoting compliance through licensing and accreditation, and supporting startups and SMEs to thrive within a regulated digital space. Mr Bruce highlighted the importance of the CSA continuing to open doors for industry players, especially innovators and young businesses that require both policy support and affordable regulatory access.
In his remarks, Mr Divine Selase Agbeti, Acting Director-General of the CSA, commended the leadership of his predecessor, Dr Albert Antwi-Boasiako, for laying a robust foundation for private-sector engagement. He reiterated that the CSA, as the national regulator, bears the responsibility of enabling innovation while maintaining high standards of integrity and safety across the cyber ecosystem.
“We are committed to a regulatory environment that is inclusive, fair, and supportive, especially for startups,” Mr Agbeti said. “The aim is not to intimidate, but to enable, and to ensure that everyone, from large firms to emerging players, can operate with integrity and confidence.”
Also present at the meeting was Mr Alexander Oppong, Director for Capacity Building and Awareness Creation at the CSA, who lauded Innovare Africa’s long-standing contribution to National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM).
Mr Oppong further underscored the need for industry-wide compliance and capacity building, noting that the CSA continues to build systems that ensure equal opportunity and professional development across all layers of the cybersecurity value chain.
In response, Mr. C.K. Bruce expressed strong appreciation for the CSA’s leadership, particularly for its bold steps in enforcing regulatory frameworks while maintaining an open dialogue with the private sector. He reaffirmed Innovare’s commitment to strengthening Ghana’s digital economy, especially through its support for startups and the fintech sector.
The meeting concluded with discussions on the Cybersecurity Industry Forum, inaugurated in October 2024, the upcoming NCSAM 2025 and CISO Summit 2026, which will target broader audiences and deeper industry engagement.
