MEMBERS OF THE GHANA ASSOCIATION OF SAVINGS AND LOANS COMPANIES RECEIVE CYBERSECURITY EDUCATION

About forty (40) members of the Ghana Association of Savings and Loans (GHASLC) have undergone a cybersecurity training as part of the mandate of the Cyber Security Authority (CSA)

At a sensitisation workshop on Monday, July 18, 2023, the CSA took the participants through the Licencing of Cybersecurity Service Providers and Accreditation of Cybersecurity Establishments and Cybersecurity Professionals as regulatory mandate of the Authority. The exercise was aimed at ensuring regulatory compliance by businesses within the financial sector in accordance with Sections 49 to 58 of the Cybersecurity Act 2020 (Act 1038).

The workshop was facilitated by the Legal and Compliance team and the Law Enforcement Liaison Unit of the CSA. The training focused on fraud detection and prevention measures.

Participants were taken through the rudiments of online security such as the need for strong security measures in the financial sector to address the specific concerns of fraudulent activities.

The participants were encouraged to report cybercrimes and other fraudulent activities to the Points of Contact of the CSA by calling or texting 292, 0501603111 (WhatsApp), or Email report@csa.gov.gh
