Volta Regional Minister Welcomes CSA Office in Ho

The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has expressed his excitement at the establishment of a branch of the Cyber Security Authority in the Volta Region.

This occurred during a visit by a CSA delegation led by Mr. Alex Oppong, Director for Capacity Building and Awareness Creation, to the Volta Regional Minister in Ho on April 28, 2026. It also included the inspection of a proposed office space, which was led by the Regional Minister.

Hon. Gunu described the planned office as a timely step in addressing the growing threat of cybercrime in the region. According to him, cybersecurity must be treated with urgency, as cyber-related offences affect all segments of society, including public officials.

The Minister cited cases where fraudsters impersonate Members of Parliament and other government officials to promote fake investment schemes and recruitment scams. He warned that such crimes undermine public trust and financial security.

He indicated that the CSA Office, when operationalised in the region, will boost cybersecurity awareness, create job opportunities, and most importantly, help curb the menace of cybercrime in the region.
